Lyricist Duties:

  • Write, produce, and perform songs
  • Explore music and write lyrics
  • Develop original melody, chords, and lyric lines
  • Provide vocals and instrumentals
  • Develop a distinctive style and sound
  • Inspire and motivate others
  • Identify, develop, and promote talent and artists
  • Improve existing songs
  • Develop new hit songs
  • Create, distribute, and promote original recordings
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver a musical performance and/or musical entertainment
  • Develop, market, and sell original songs and recordings
  • Negotiate contracts with record companies, music publishers, management companies, talent agencies, and customers
  • Monitor finances and expenditures, and provide reports
  • Develop, implement, and improve business and marketing plans, including advertising and promotion
  • Create, implement, and monitor sales policies, sales forecasts

Lyricist Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop, write, revise, and arrange lyrics and melodies of popular music
  • Attending festivals and events where networking is possible with other artists and writers.
  • Training, advising, and mentoring junior Lyricists.
  • Writing choruses, jingles, cartoons, and training videos
  • Writing lyrics for various genres of music like rock, country, and rap
