A master electrician is a person with electrician’s license who has completed and is certified by a sponsoring union to be qualified to work as an electrician.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Master Electrician to come and help us with our electrical needs. We have a lot of work that needs to be done and we need someone who is experienced and knowledgeable to help us get the job done right.

Master Electrician Duties:

  • Evaluate, execute, and close electrical systems projects
  • Design, install, and troubleshoot electrical systems
  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical systems
  • Train personnel on electrical systems
  • Develop testing procedures and standards
  • Train, manage, and supervise electricians

Master Electrician Responsibilities:

  • Approve permit requests, perform drawing reviews, and manage multiple, concurrent projects
  • Perform initial and final inspections of electrical work, including reviewing materials and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Assist in evaluating the amount of power required
  • Create proposals for clients
  • Ensure all work is performed according to federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Work with operators, supervisors, and other personnel to ensure projects meet safety requirements
  • Review or maintain department paperwork, including checklists, safety forms, project reports, and other materials
  • Assist with equipment maintenance
  • Review and update department records and documents
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • 2+ years experience in a supervisory or management role, or 3+ years’ proven experience
  • Knowledge of electrical safety
  • Knowledge of electrical code requirements
  • Knowledge of electrical testing, measurement, and inspection methods
