Master Grower Job Description

A master grower (MG) is a grower who grows marijuana on a license for one or more flowerbeds.

Master grower’s may or may not own their operation.

They may also operate a grow operation for the express purpose of supplying licensed cultivators with product.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for Master Grower to manage our growing operations and ensure high-quality plants. The ideal candidate will have experience in horticulture and plant management, and be able to work well in a team environment.

Master Grower Duties:

  • Maintain and provide overall direction to all operations of the facility, including forecasting and scheduling, and also oversee all on-site activities, including crop growth, soil preparation, irrigation, pest control, and product maintenance
  • Ensure that the facility follows all state and county regulations

Master Grower Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the cultivation, harvesting, drying, curing, packing, and shipping of medical marijuana
  • Manage a staff of full-time workers, including scheduling, training, and tracking of hours
  • Foster relationships with state regulators, local officials, and vendors to maintain compliance
  • Oversee maintenance of facilities and equipment
  • Maintain greenhouse layout and environmental conditions, including temperature and humidity
  • Provide leadership, communication, and mentorship to cultivate high-quality products
  • Identify opportunities for growth, including expanding product offerings, increasing market share, and pursuing large-scale cultivation projects
  • Support the marketing and advertising strategy
  • Participate in trade shows and conferences, promote the company, and interface with government officials and customers
  • Share expertise with coworkers and subordinates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Proven experience growing marijuana
  • Experience in running a marijuana dispensary
  • Knowledge of cultivation methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of cannabis plant and soil chemistry
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems and techniques
  • Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and requirements
  • Knowledge of botany
