Job Brief:

We’re looking for Meat Packer to work in our busy factory. You will be responsible for packing meat into boxes and containers. This is a physically demanding job and you will be required to lift heavy boxes.

Meat Packer Duties:

  • Takes orders from supervisors regarding packing procedures
  • Places meat into containers according to orders
  • Fills orders for meat products
  • Follows proper packaging procedures
  • Maintains cleanliness of the work area

Meat Packer Responsibilities:

  • Perform 5-10 duties related to packaging meat products, including: production assignments, meat cutting, packaging, USDA inspection, and product labeling
  • Responsible for correctly following safety rules and procedures
  • Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications
  • Maintain sanitary conditions during tasks such as defrosting, cutting, packaging, and washing
  • Other duties may include: receiving, storing, and stocking raw materials; keeping records of production volumes, weights, and counts; receiving and transferring products between production areas; performing other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in meat processing or related field
  • 2+ years experience in meat packing plant
  • Knowledge of packing operation, required equipment, and government regulations
  • Ability to operate meat processing line
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; Spanish a plus
