We're looking for a Medical Interpreter to work with us in order to provide better communication between our medical staff and patients who do not speak English as their first language.
Medical Interpreter Duties:
- Interpret medical terminology and procedures for patients who do not speak your current language during medical appointments and emergency room visits
- Work in a team-based atmosphere
- Create and maintain medical records
- Provide support for patients or clients
- Establish and maintain relationships with other medical or non-medical professionals
- Screen clients for basic medical needs/issues
- Use computer and office equipment
Medical Interpreter Responsibilities:
- Attend and chair meetings with clients, physicians, therapists, and other providers, and manage the overall scheduling process
- Attend and translate medical appointments and therapies, including doctor visits, surgery, rehabilitation, hospitalization, medical tests, and therapy sessions
- Record client statements and medical histories into medical charts
- Communicate and facilitate communication between providers and clients, including answering inquiries, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance
- Research medical information and ensure that medical charts are accurate and up-to-date
- Provide client services, including arranging accommodations, coordinating transportation, and assisting with meal preparation
- Conduct in-services and orientation for new team members

Requirements And Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- 6+ months’ experience interpreting for medical professionals
- Strong medical terminology skills
- Knowledge of medical administrative systems (i.e. Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
- Knowledge of HIPAA medical confidentiality rules
