Medical Technologist Job Description

A medical technologist is someone who conducts medical tests in a clinical lab.

The medical technologist is responsible for collecting samples, testing those samples, and interpreting the results.

They interpret test results based on a series of reference ranges, which are determined based on different tests.

The medical technologist also prepares and calibrates testing equipment.

A medical technologist may specialize in a certain area.

For example, a hematologist, or blood cell specialist, would specialize in determining blood disorders.

Medical technologists may work in clinical labs, such as in a hospital, or in a research lab that studies various diseases.
