An MRI Technician is a health care worker who administers an MRI procedure.

MRI stands for magnetic resonance imaging.

MRI’s use magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of soft tissues of the body.

MRI’s are used to detect tumors, heart problems, and other abnormalities.

MRI technicians usually work in hospitals, clinics, and private medical practices and are responsible for the equipment as well as the patient.

The MRI technician works closely with the doctor who ordered the procedure and is responsible for helping the patient get settled in the room, removing all jewelry and other metallic items, placing the patients on a scanning table, and ensuring that the scanner is working properly.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for MRI Technician to administer MRIs to patients in order to diagnose various medical conditions. The MRI Technician will be responsible for operating the MRI machine, positioning patients, and ensuring that they remain still during the procedure. They will also monitor patients during the MRI and report any unusual reactions to the radiologist.

MRI Technician Duties:

  • Assist physicians in performing MRI scans
  • Assist physicians in preparation of MRI room
  • Handle the monitoring of patients throughout the MRI procedure
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning of the MRI room, ensuring equipment is working properly
  • Assist physicians during MRI procedures
  • Perform basic maintenance
  • Perform quality control checks
  • Use diagnostic and therapeutic equipment
  • Use magnetic resonance imaging equipment

MRI Technician Responsibilities:

  • Minimum two years of hospital experience
  • Clear background check
  • Ability to lift up 50-pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, etc.

  • Performs MRI procedures, including MRI equipment setup and tube positioning, and performs patient positioning
  • Prepares patients for procedure, including removing jewelry and undergoing body scans
