A network manager is an administrator for a computer network or communication system.

A network manager may be called upon to manage a network administrator’s daily work.

The manager is a go-between and is responsible for coordinating with all of the network administrators in an organization.

The manager may use network management tools to monitor and troubleshoot network problems.

He or she may also need to become familiar with the firm’s software systems as well as develop technical plans.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for Network Manager to lead our team in providing network support and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience managing and configuring network systems, as well as experience troubleshooting network issues.

Network Manager Duties:

  • Implement, maintain, and upgrade the organization’s computer systems and networks, including servers, workstations, email, mobile, and cloud-based services
  • Ensure all systems are up-to-date and secured from unauthorized access
  • Identify and implement new technology solutions as necessary to improve the company’s efficiency and capacity
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all company data
  • Develop long-term plans for upgrading and replacing the current infrastructure and hardware
  • Ensure all company-owned laptops, computer equipment, and other devices are maintained in excellent working condition

Network Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple network devices and devices connected to the network, such as computers, printers, mobile computers, customer premises equipment (CPE), and network operating systems
  • Perform network troubleshooting and diagnostics, such as system logs, network packets, and network traffic, in order to identify and resolve network problems
  • Research and resolve network problems caused by failed equipment, network connections, and software failures
  • Ensure network stability and optimal performance through maintenance and monitoring schedules, including testing of network devices and connectivity
  • Conduct fault analysis on existing network, and prepare network designs, including wireless LAN and WAN
  • Implement and support network access security, including network security, firewall, encryption, and intrusion detection
  • Advise and deploy new technologies, such as cloud, virtualization, and backup, to meet business needs and improve efficiency
  • Manage network service agreements and warranties, and archive

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field
  • 3-4 years’ solid experience managing networks using Cisco network management platform
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair network hardware; knowledge of cable and fiber networking
  • Experience with network security and intrusion detection/prevention is also a plus
