Nurse Practitioner Duties:

  • Practice medicine in accordance with nursing standards of professional conduct
  • Perform screenings, examinations, and prescribe treatment and monitoring for acute and chronic diseases
  • Document patient’s medical history and progress
  • Provide preventative care
  • Assign responsibility to clinical team for patient care
  • Conduct assessments, measurements and observations
  • Manage patients with medical and/or mental health issues
  • Evaluate patients’ response to treatment
  • Advise on treatment plans, medications, and therapy
  • Evaluate and direct the overall care of patients
  • Develop protocols and treatment protocols
  • Work with physicians to determine diagnoses
  • Perform procedures and tests
  • Advise on follow-up care and preventative treatment

Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:

  • Provide continuity, support, and consultation to primary care providers, including screenings, exams, referrals, immunizations, and patient education

  • Manage patients’ conditions with over the counter and prescription medications
  • Handle medical billing, adjust claims, and reconcile accounts
  • Provide medical treatment and care to sick and injured patients

  • Communicate with physicians regarding test results, treatment, and progress

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a healthcare-related field such as nursing
  • Current RN license in Texas
  • 1+ years’ experience as a nurse practitioner
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and laws required
  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel
