Job Brief:

We’re looking for an Operating Room Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of our patients.

Operating Room Nurse Duties:

  • Provide professional nursing care utilizing evidence based practice that meets or exceeds Joint Commission standards
  • Perform procedural, surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic interventions, and delegate to other qualified RNs
  • Manage patient and family expectations and maintain professional boundaries
  • Provide customer service to patients, families, and staff
  • Be an effective communicator, promoting teamwork and an open line of communication
  • Evaluate and document patient progress
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures
  • Prepare patients for surgery, such as shaving and cleaning ears, cleaning incision sites, and suturing incisions
  • Monitor patients during surgery and recovery, such as controlling heart rate, oxygen level, and blood pressure
  • Monitor patients after surgical procedures, such as moving patients into recovery position, and applying pressure to wounds
  • Assume responsibilities of personnel who are unavailable
  • Assist in surgical procedures
