An Operations Officer, also referred to as an Operations Manager, is responsible for ensuring that business operations are running smoothly and to plan, direct, and coordinate activities that provide services to their clients.

To succeed in the role, an Operations Officer must have excellent management, communication, and organizational skills.

They must also know how to solve problems, make sound judgments, and anticipate the impact of their decisions.

The Operations Officer is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a business and ensures that all business activities are followed and that policies, procedures, and rules are followed.

They also handle any issues that arise from business operations, and help those that are having problems with the business.

Operations Officer Duties:

  • Develop, oversee, and manage the overall operations of an organization or facility, such as overseeing staff, maintaining supplies and equipment, or coordinating with other departments
  • Promote health and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Develop and monitor policies related to personnel, finances, or supplies
  • Oversee and support administrative functions
  • Manage, assign, and evaluate staff
  • Oversee all systems, procedures, and policies

Operations Officer Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistics for deliveries, shipments, and personnel
  • Prepare and coordinate necessary reports and records, such as inventory, shipments, and purchase orders
  • Manage warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, inventory, order processing, and cycle count
  • Maintain accurate records of document flow, ensuring that they are properly filed and archived
  • Maintain and update reports and databases
  • Other duties as assigned
