Packer Job Description

A packer is an individual who secures the cargo inside a shipping container.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for Packer to be a reliable member of our team who can be counted on to get the job done.

Packer Duties:

• Maintain relationships with customers and prospects
• Develop and implement new sales strategies
• Track sales records, and develop sales forecasts
• Provide support to sales team as needed
• Identify sales opportunities and develop strategies to grow company’s business
• Track incoming leads through follow-up calls, e-mails, or other contact methods
• Perform outbound calls as needed
• Schedule appointments and coordinate logistics with sales team members
• Maintain product and literature inventory

Packer Responsibilities:

• Prepare boxes, crates, and pallets for shipment
• Label boxes, crates, and pallets with customer, order, and product codes
• Ship customer orders using freight carriers
• Sales support functions, including creation of sales orders, processing invoices, and coordinating shipments with carriers
• Shipped those boxes, crates, and pallets to various locations
• Shipped those boxes, crates, and pallets via truck, rail, air, and sea
• Handled those boxes, crates, and pallets at Distribution Centers
• Packed boxes, crates, and pallets for shipping
• Print, scan, and file shipping documents
• Performed inventory counts
• Performed daily, weekly, and monthly inventories
• Take photographs and made videos for the distribution center

Requirements And Skills:

• Proven experience as a packer
• Ability to stack boxes on pallets
• Ability to measure and weigh boxes
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to lift 55 pounds
