Patient liaison or patient care liaison (PCL) is an individual who may be involved in the coordination of patient care and the provision of healthcare.

Patient liaisons may also be referred to as patient service representatives (PSRs) or patient service representatives (PSRs).

Patient service representatives or PCSOs typically work at the front desk of a hospital or clinic.

Their role is to communicate and assist patients, physicians, and other medical professionals.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Patient Liaison to work closely with our patients and their families, providing support and guidance throughout their treatment. This is a highly rewarding role where you can make a real difference to people’s lives.

Patient Liaison Duties:

  • Assist patients by answering questions, providing information about different treatment options, coordinating appointments, taking patient referrals, scheduling appointments, preparing patient charts, and notifying employees of test results
  • Perform administrative responsibilities, such as reviewing medical records and insurance information, entering or verifying patient information into medical records, processing payments, making phone calls, and preparing correspondence
  • Perform clerical responsibilities, such as correspondence, preparing reports, maintaining files, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and filing
  • Maintain and update databases

Patient Liaison Responsibilities:

  • Manage expectations and communications with patients, families, and physicians regarding procedures, appointments, billing, and insurance issues
  • Evaluate billing and insurance eligibility, and file claims
  • Accept payments, work with patients on payment plans, and reconcile accounts
  • Encourage patients to schedule routine visits and screenings
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training staff members
  • Proactively communicate changes in policies and procedures to patients and providers
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and office staff
  • Conduct outreach activities to publicize the surgery center
  • Maintain effective communication with administrators, physicians, and staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Current CA RN License
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Current ACLS (Cardiac Life Support)
  • Current
