A patient representative is an individual who has been appointed by a patient or his/her legal guardian to represent the patient's best interest in medical or legal proceedings.

The representative acts as the patient's agent and "speaks" for the patient and represents the patient's interests.

A patient representative can also be referred to as a medical proxy, medical agent, or legal representative.

Job Brief

We're looking for a Patient Representative who is passionate about providing excellent customer service and who is interested in working in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and be a self-starter.

Patient Representative Duties


-Recommend courses of treatment to patients and counsel them regarding their treatment options
-Maintain records, schedules, and office operations
-Perform administrative functions such as scheduling and reviewing patient records
-Investigate, record, and update patient demographics
-Provide patient education and counseling
-Perform office duties such as answering telephones, filing, and greeting guests
-Answer patient questions and resolve concerns

Patient Representative Responsibilities


-Manage the team's daily operations, managing all tasks, handling all customer inquiries, and setting appointments, while completing goals
-Perform all administrative tasks, including scheduling, document management, and billing, while ensuring compliance and quality control
-Process patient payments and payments from insurance companies
-Create, update, and maintain patient profiles
-Review patient files to ensure compliance and completeness
-Support team members as needed
-Work with doctors, nurses, and other team members to ensure schedule adherence and timely delivery of medical services
-Oversee the delivery of quality patient care and administrative support

Requirment And Skills


-Bachelor’s degree in a related health field
3+ years of professional experience in patient care or patient advocacy
-Excellent communication skills with patients, families, visitors, and staff
-Excellent conflict management and negotiation skills
-Excellent working knowledge of medical terminology
-Ability to promote a positive work environment
