Pipeline engineers are responsible for the flow of fluids through pipelines.

We’re looking for a Pipeline Engineer who is passionate about their work and takes pride in delivering high-quality results. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and be able to effectively communicate with other members of the engineering team. Pipeline Engineer Duties:

  • Plan, design, document, and test the physical and operational characteristics of pipelines, wells, and facilities.
  • Carry out research using field data, engineering models, and mathematical and statistical methods.
  • Research and formulate operating principles for facilities such as pipelines, wells, compressors, and pumps.
  • Develop designs, specifications, and cost estimates for pipelines, wells, compressors, and pumps.
  • Develop layouts and drawings for pipelines, wells, compressors, and pumps.
  • Perform field inspections of pipelines, wells, compressors, and pumps.
  • Develop operating procedures for pipelines, wells, compressors, and pumps.
  • Plan, design, monitor, and supervise the construction of pipelines, wells, compressors, and pumps.
  • Assist in the development of new pipeline designs.
  • Assist in the training of pipeline engineers.

Pipeline Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and construct new pipelines, as well as repair and maintain old ones, using a variety of methods, including directional drilling, construction with horizontal directional drilling (HDD), trenchless drilling, micro tunneling, shaft sinking, laser drilling, pipejacking, cable-jacking, and jacking and grouting.
  • Prepare landscape and site plans, and prepare project specifications.
  • Undertake project management responsibilities including estimating, scheduling, bidding, cost control, quality control, and risk management.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design tools, and report progress to upper management.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with contractors, employees, and clients.
  • Meet with clients, potential clients, and regulators to discuss pipeline projects.
  • Partner with right of way acquisition engineers to secure permits.
  • Prepare reports for regulatory agencies, contractors.

Requirements And Skills:

  • B. S. in Engineering, Geology, or Physics (preferred).
  • 5+ years experience in pipeline engineering, operations, or maintenance.
  • Knowledge of pipeline construction methods and technologies.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contract.
