Pipeline Inspector Duties:

  • Maintain optimal levels of safety throughout the company
  • Ensure all pipeline integrity and maintenance-related activities are in compliance with federal, state, and local standards, as well as company procedures
  • Ensure all pipelines are inspected and maintained in a safe, efficient manner
  • Track pipeline usage and ensure proper monitoring to prevent damage
  • Understand the pipeline industry and industry best practices
  • Utilize innovative technologies and practices to foster a sound safety culture
  • Oversee and maintain safe work environments
  • Perform all work in compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations

Pipeline Inspector Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate pipeline facilities to determine their structural integrity and effectiveness, and ensure compliance with all regulations and company policies
  • Perform detailed inspections of pipeline facilities, checking for corrosion, leaks, cracks, and other physical and structural issues
  • Maintain accurate inspection records in tap
  • Develop and seal and submit PMs, which can include supporting service, modification, or reline recommendations
  • Identify problems or potential issues, and recommend solutions to management
  • Conduct regular compliance audits of operating pipelines
  • Perform equipment maintenance on pipeline inspection tools, including cameras, crawler robots, test instruments, and flow meters
  • Perform inspections using handheld and man-down devices
  • Maintain inventory levels of inspection tools and vehicles
  • Conduct internal training on inspection processes and best practices
  • Maintain updates for internal training systems

Requirements And Skills:

  • Associate’s degree in engineering or a related field
  • 1+ years’ proven experience performing pipeline inspections
  • Knowledge of pipeline installation methods, tools, and equipment is essential
  • Knowledge of pipeline sealant installation methods, tools, and equipment is essential
