Psychologist Duties:

  • Provide counseling, assessment, and intervention to:
  • Rehabilitate offenders, substance abusers, alcoholics, and mentally ill persons
  • Treat victims of violence, abuse, or neglect
  • Provide parenting education
  • Assist individuals to develop a positive sense of self and life goals
  • Recover from depression
  • Screen and diagnose mental disorders
  • Provide diagnostic and rehabilitative services to treat substance abuse

Psychologist Responsibilities:

  • Master’s degree in psychology or human services field

  • Ability to counsel individuals, groups, and families

  • Design, direct, and oversee all phases of psychological treatment, including intake assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, and case management
  • Assist patients with development of behavioral change plans, and initiate follow-up evaluations
  • Work closely with and refer patients to other mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists, prescribing physicians, and counselors
  • Attend and facilitate team meetings, and contribute to proposal writing
  • Provide consultation to other healthcare professionals
  • Manage caseloads, budget, and staffing
  • Complete all case documentation
