Job Brief:

We're looking for a Public Relations Intern to join our team and help us build and maintain relationships with our clients. As a Public Relations Intern, you will be responsible for creating and executing communication plans, writing press releases and media alerts, and pitch letters. You will also be responsible for conducting research, monitoring media coverage, and maintaining our media database. If you are a motivated self-starter with strong communication and writing skills, then we want to hear from you!

Public Relations Executive Duties:

  • Assist with community relations, event planning, and scheduling
  • Assist with public relations efforts
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of The Matrix team and facility
  • Provide accurate and timely clerical support
  • Provide quality service to a wide variety of individuals
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain a professional image
  • Manage stress
  • Perform all job duties in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Public Relations Executive Responsibilities:

  • Work within the communications team to generate media and public communications including press releases, social media and press kits
  • Conduct internal and external community relations events with potential and existing partners
  • Develop and update content for corporate websites, blogs, and other communications tools
  • Prepare content for external publication
  • Generate creative concepts and write material for presentations, event planning and collateral materials
  • Research and analyze competition, industry trends, and market conditions
  • Research and draft legislation
  • Write and edit content for internal communications, including company newsletters
  • Assist in the creation of employee communications and training materials
  • Assist in the creation of company policy and procedure manuals
  • Research and draft internal and external presentations
  • Meet internal deadlines to work effectively with team
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree, public relations, communications, marketing, or other related field
  • 1-2 years’ public relations and marketing experience
  • Knowledge of social media concepts, strategies and platforms
  • Knowledge of basic website management
  • Ability to collaborate and work with multiple teams
