Registered Nurse Duties:

  • Prepare, administer, and monitor medications according to nurses’ orders, overseeing all medication and dosage administration
  • Assist surgically, as needed
  • Prescribe and administer medications according to nursing standards, policies, and procedures
  • Perform complex nursing care, including assessing patient condition, determining need for care, making patient diagnoses, and providing treatment
  • Implement and maintain basic life support
  • Perform routine diagnostic procedures, including taking patient temperatures, measuring blood pressure, and palpating palps
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and record data
  • Perform routine nonsurgical procedures, including applying and removing bandages, dressings, and catheters
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks
  • Conduct routine physical exams, including taking height and weight measurements, listening to heart and lungs, and inspecting eyes, ears, nose, mouth, skin, and throat

Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Eligible for RN licensure in the state
  • Experience in critical care or emergency department
  • Experience in medical/surgical nursing
  • Experience with nursing process
  • Strong communication skills

Requirements And Skills:

  • Performs nursing procedures in accordance with facility protocols, including infection control, medication administration, wound care, and phlebotomy

  • Documents and records patients’ care, and assesses their overall medical condition
