Job Brief:

We're looking for a Route Sales Representative to join our team. The Route Sales Representative will be responsible for delivering and stocking merchandise at customer locations. A successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent customer service skills.

Route Sales Representative Duties:

  • Sell company products and/or services to new and existing customers
  • Develop and maintain a long-term relationship with existing customers
  • Focus on expanding customer base and maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Meet or exceed expectations and goals of company sales
  • Invite customers to return as customers
  • Take orders over the phone and in person
  • Resolve customers’ complaints
  • Proactively identify, resolve, and report problems
  • Discuss company products and services, including costs, discounts, benefits, etc.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of competitive products and prices
  • Make recommendations to customers on product specifications
  • Provide customers with general product information
  • Maintain a positive professional image with all customers
  • Oversee inventory of company products
  • Cycle inventory through company warehouse
  • Prospect for customers on a daily basis
  • Gather detailed information about customers’ preferences, tastes, etc.

  • Work with assigned customers and potential customers to establish accounts and increase sales in assigned truck routes
  • Negotiate contracts and recommend new equipment and systems for customer needs
  • Ensure that promised materials are available and that shipments meet their schedule
  • Maintain customer records, including work orders, job status, and punch lists
  • Maintain trucks, equipment, and supplies in safe working order
  • Provide excellent customer service, including timely delivery of materials at cost

Requirements And Skills:
