Sales Manager Job Description

A company's sales manager (also called a VP of sales or Marketing Director) is responsible for developing and maintaining an organization's sales and marketing strategies.

Sales managers typically meet with key customers in order to assess their needs and desires and develop new products or services to meet those needs.

Additionally, they organize a company's sales and marketing efforts, including developing cost-of-carry, establishing pricing policies, and determining the sales force.

Sales managers typically report to a CEO or COO.

They typically do not have direct oversight of sales personnel and instead delegate that responsibility to a sales manager.
