Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Security Guard to help us protect our premises and our people. You’ll need to be vigilant and have a keen eye for detail, as well as being physically fit and able to respond quickly to any incidents. If you have previous experience in security or a related field, that would be advantageous, but it’s not essential.

Security Guard Duties:

  • Handle all security-related matters for an organization
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring site boundaries, monitoring visitors, and ensuring that all occupants of the building are in compliance
  • Properly handle emergency evacuation procedures
  • Responsible for locking and unlocking building doors, monitoring personnel, and assisting with access control systems
  • Check identification for visitors and report suspicious activities to the proper authorities
  • Adjust security settings as necessary
  • Maintain a visible physical presence at all times

Security Guard Responsibilities:

  • Maintain site security, with accountability for all property, personnel, and customer assets, including keys, gate cards, and assets
  • Perform routine patrols, ensuring that all access points and sensitive areas are secure, and report any incidents
  • Monitor alarms and security systems and respond accordingly
  • Keep records and documents of all incidents, including interviewing witnesses
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years similar experience in a retail, hospitality, restaurant, or fitness environment
  • Computer literacy – proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and web-based applications
  • Sunset experience is preferred but not required
  • Domestic travel required: 100%
  • Standing, walking, bending, and stooping

Requirements And Skills:

  • Current security guard license required
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Proven work experience as a security officer
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, tenants, and subcontractors
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
