A senior project manager is in charge of managing the planning, organizing, and guiding of projects, while a junior project manager is in charge of the smaller details of the project.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a senior project manager who is experienced in leading and managing complex projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering successful projects, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Senior Project Manager Duties:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to projects, including initial project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and problem solving
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols
  • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity
  • Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives
  • Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget
  • Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable departments
  • Oversee geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, and architectural engineering
  • Oversee demolition, wrecking, and excavation
  • Oversee utility engineering
  • Oversee a 3-5 man team
  • Drive up to 700 miles in a day
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead the implementation of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to client specifications
  • Manage a team of professionals to complete assigned tasks, including choosing team members with specialized skills, establishing meeting schedules, and communicating project status to clients
  • Manage project budgets by reconciling and preparing project budgets, including cash flow analysis and budget variance analyses, negotiating with vendors and subcontractors about costs, and coordinating payments
  • Work with accounting and finance teams to update project budgets

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • 10+ years experience in project management
  • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
  • Knowledge of building code requirements and scheduling methods
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality
