A service advisor is a dealership employee working to improve customer satisfaction, loyalty and retention.

A service advisor, otherwise known as a dealership employee, is responsible for helping customers with their automotive needs.

Their primary roles include: handling sales, sales customer service, parts, service administration, and administrative tasks such as scheduling.

As a service advisor, you will conduct the sales process, order parts, handle administrative tasks, provide customer service, suggest upgrades, and help create vehicle maintenance plans.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Service Advisor to join our team! As a Service Advisor, you will be responsible for providing our customers with an outstanding experience. You will be the first point of contact for our customers and will be responsible for providing them with information about our products and services. You will also be responsible for scheduling appointments and coordinating with our service technicians. Service Advisor Duties:

  • Understand and comply with warranty and service guidelines
  • Ensure that all service advisors are well-versed in the warranty guidelines
  • Meet with all customers, identifying and resolving any problems or issues that may arise
  • Schedule appointments with customers, including making recommendations for service when needed
  • Answer inquiries from customers, including questions about warranty coverage and related issues
  • Track repair orders, billing, and payments
  • Monitor and track inventory
  • Assist customers with scheduling appointments for routine maintenance
  • Develop strong customer relationships

Service Advisor Responsibilities:

  • Become familiar with Firestone and Bridgestone products, their features, benefits, and warranties, and provide clients with product recommendations
  • Train and guide technicians, so they will be comfortable working with customers, communicating technical information, and identifying issues
  • Oversee repair process and document it to ensure quality control
  • Maintain and repair equipment, such as lift trucks, fork lifts, sprayers, and air compressors
  • Assist with SOPs, policies and procedures, and daily schedules

Requirements And Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years’ proven experience in automotive service
  • Knowledge of automotive systems
  • Ability to diagnose and repair automotive mechanical and electrical problems
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
