A stock clerk or stock taker is a warehouse worker who keeps track of inventory in an establishment.

Stock clerks or stock takers are generally responsible for tallying and summarizing product inventory levels and quantities, and updating and maintaining databases that track stocks.

They also record any discrepancies or damages.

Some stock clerks are responsible for the shipping of products, while others record information about orders and deliveries.

Stock clerks are responsible for maintaining stock rooms, counting and storing inventory, and stocking shelves.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Stock Clerk to help us keep track of our inventory and make sure that our shelves are always full. If you’re organized and have a good eye for detail, we want you on our team!

Stock Clerk Duties:

  • Keep track of stock levels by stocking and replenishing; putting away merchandise; and verifying inventory counts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Stock Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage multiple things at once
  • Knowledge of retail inventory systems and procedures, including sourcing and replenishment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

Requirements And Skills:

  • Perform general oversight of warehouse operations, including daily inventory, receiving, stocking, and retrieval of materials, and disposing of excess or damaged inventory
  • Establish SOPs for packaging and handling of products, reporting discrepancies, and interacting with customers
  • Formulate and administer cost-control programs, such as labor, materials, production, and inventory control
  • Maintain inventory records, such as invoices and purchase orders, and prepare reports
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and appearance
