Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Street Sweeper Operator to operate a street sweeper machine to clean streets and sidewalks. The Operator will be responsible for driving the sweeper to the assigned location, sweeping the area, and disposing of the collected debris.

Street Sweeper Operator Duties:

  • Drive and operate a truck or van equipped with hoses, brooms, and other equipment
  • Clean streets, driveways, alleys, parking facilities, sidewalks, and landscaping areas
  • Ensure that all aspects of work are properly completed to specifications and in compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean work area and vehicles

Street Sweeper Operator Responsibilities:

  • Driver’s license
  • Must have a valid/clean DOT physical
  • Must pass drug test
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, balance, and work in

Requirements And Skills:

  • Clean streets, sidewalks, and alleys using a self-contained diesel-powered street sweeper with onboard controls; use hand brooms and shovels as needed
  • Keep vehicle and equipment in safe, clean, and serviceable condition
  • Maintain vehicle records for vehicle and equipment inspections and repairs
  • Report all equipment, vehicle, and safety incidents to supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
