The Supplier Quality Engineer should be able to evaluate suppliers’ quality systems, including process controls, test plans, supplier qualification and supplier approval.

The Supplier Quality Engineer should provide supplier training and supplier auditing.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team! As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for working with suppliers to ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards. You will also be responsible for investigating and resolving quality issues.

Supplier Quality Engineer Duties:

  • Provide technical assistance and support to customers, suppliers, and employees in resolving quality problems
  • Assist in the improvement of manufacturing, process, and product efficiency to reduce nonconforming products
  • Develop and implement supplier quality programs, utilize suppliers’ quality systems to enhance quality, and utilize supplier audits to identify nonconforming product
  • Participate in the supplier quality system, which includes participating in audits of suppliers
  • Developing goals and objectives for improving supplier quality
  • Advise customers on quality-related matters
  • Develop programs to help suppliers improve performance
  • Lead training and orientation programs on quality systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supplier Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all critical supplier quality data (e.g. materials, factory, and supplier process production) is backed up and accounted for
  • Review, manage, and license critical supplier data, including all applicable assets and history
  • Develop, manage, and maintain supplier quality processes, including internal and external audits, corrective actions, and root cause analysis
  • Review, approve, and manage supplier quality data requests
  • Manage supplier audits and ensure all supplier data, including publications, is up to date
  • Manage supplier quality KPI reporting
  • Develop and communicate supplier quality strategy, processes, and procedures to internal stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain risk mitigation strategies and processes
  • Represent company at supplier quality meetings, and at supplier quality audits
  • Manage supplier quality issue resolution
  • Track and report relevant supplier quality metrics

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or construction management
  • 5+ years’ proven experience in supplier quality engineering
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of giving presentations to large groups
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain supplies
