We're looking for a Support Worker to provide assistance and support to people who need help to live independently. The role of a Support Worker is to promote independence and wellbeing, and to enable people to live their lives the way they want to.
Support Worker Duties:
- Provide primary support/care to individuals, by assisting with activities of daily living, grooming, mobility, and personal care
- Treat and support individuals by encouraging independence
- Maintain a safe environment for individuals who cannot be left alone
- Protect, support, and safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of individuals
- Maintain and promote maximum functioning of individuals
- Support individuals in crisis, or at risk
- Establish and maintain safety awareness
- Provide appropriate responses to emergency situations
- Ensure all individuals needs are met
Support Worker Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily activities of staff by preparing meals, cleaning, laundry, and providing other services as needed
- Maintain or improve work areas, including keeping work areas clean and organized
- Assist with transportation of clients, including wheelchair assistance
- Plan and prepare meals for staff and clients
- Perform other duties as assigned
