Technical Architect Job Description

A technical architect is a business professional who designs, develops, and implements information technology applications.

This definition is slightly different from the definition of a technical project manager, who is involved in planning, organizing, and managing IT projects.

Technical architects are primarily responsible for leading teams of IT technical professionals and determining the best way to achieve an organization’s goals.

They often deal with multiple levels of management within an organization, as well as clients.

The technical architect also serves as the spokesperson for the IT department.

In a well-functioning IT department, the technical architect works with other IT professionals to understand the business processes that generate data.
