A Technical Business Analyst is a person who is trained and skilled at analyzing and interpreting business problems, identifying the root cause of these issues, presenting solutions, and facilitating the implementation of these solutions.

Normally, organizations Human Resource (HR) department’s staff or management would handle these duties, but organizations are increasingly utilizing the services of professional Business Analysts (this includes also Business Analysts with a management background) to help rectify issues, improve processes, and streamline operations.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join our team and help us continue to grow our business. As a Technical Business Analyst, you will be responsible for working with our technical and business teams to understand our business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. You will also be responsible for working with our development team to ensure that our products are built to meet our business requirements. Technical Business Analyst Duties:

  • Work with the project manager to develop project scope and timeline
  • Analyze and interpret user requirements, user stories, use cases, and system architecture documents
  • Participate in design and testing activities, review code, and participate in system implementations
  • Assist with maintaining and documenting systems
  • Perform data validation checks
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of business processes, policies, and procedures
  • Diligence in reviewing data to be input to system
  • Identify, quantify, and document business process improvements
  • Identify, analyze, and document user interface issues
  • Create user documentation including process flows, roles and responsibilities, and use cases
  • Train users on system processes and application
  • Identify and resolve system-specific issues through research and analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Technical Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze new technologies and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Gather, analyze, and document customer information, needs, and existing processes
  • Develop and communicate technical requirements, including design, build, and test plans
  • Identify, validate, and mitigate technology risks
  • Develop innovative, efficient, effective, and scalable solutions
  • Evaluate usability and scalability of solutions
  • Work with business stakeholders and IT to implement changes
  • Design, document, test, and implement software solutions

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business or a related field
  • 2+ years work experience in a technical support role
  • Proven ability to research, troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
  • Strong data gathering and analysis skills
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
