Therapeutic Support Staff Job Description

A therapeutic support staff member (TSS) is any provider whose primary role is to provide direct support or oversight to an individual with a disability; however, TSSs also provide services related to the development of an individual’s independence, self-care, and daily living skills.

TSSs may work in several different settings, including community agencies, residential facilities, and group homes.

TSSs support individuals and their families in fulfilling individual goals related to independent living, socialization, community integration, and employment.
