Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Train Conductor to help us with our busy train schedule. This person will be responsible for making sure the trains run on time and that all the passengers are happy. If you have experience running a train schedule, then we want to hear from you!

Train Conductor Duties:

  • Maintain safety procedures while ensuring efficient, safe, and on-time trains
  • Supervise and train employees, making sure they are aware of and following safety regulations
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to ensure they are satisfied with service
  • Keep detailed records of customer information
  • Maintain operations records
  • Keep accurate records of daily train schedules
  • Responsible for scheduling, hiring, and training employees
  • Assist in the maintenance of customer service and train schedules

Train Conductor Responsibilities:

  • Train and evaluate new train conductors to ensure the safe operation of the train and ensure adherence to all safety and company policies
  • Plan and execute route assignments, train stops, and transfers; assure trains depart and arrive at their destination on schedule
  • Enforce compliance with all safety policies and regulations, including mandatory safety meetings
  • Solicit feedback from passengers and respond to customer complaints in a courteous, positive manner
  • Support the driver during incidents and emergency situations, and perform minor maintenance and repairs on the locos and coaches
  • Monitor train equipment to ensure it is in top condition
  • Maintain and report maintenance needs
  • Manage and train all personnel in the organization and supervise all workers

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • 2+ years’ proven experience as a train conductor
  • Must be a certified train conductor, JR or CR
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
