Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Transportation Analyst to join our team. You will be responsible for analyzing our transportation needs and developing solutions to improve our efficiency. If you have a strong background in transportation and logistics, we want you on our team!

Transportation Analyst Duties:

  • Coordinate transportation and logistics activities for the company’s projects
  • Assume responsibility for the selection of contractors for services such as site planning, building design, site utility systems, and site development
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control programs
  • Track and monitor construction schedules, budgets, and changes
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and interior designers
  • Coordinate with company personnel and subcontractors
  • Oversee and execute permitting and inspections
  • Manage inventory and storage facilities
  • Manage transportation and related logistics
  • Manage purchasing, receiving, and shipping
  • Provide reports to management, clients, and other interested parties

Transportation Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Develop and continuously update detailed route plans, including coordination with freight forwarders, recommend and implement transportation improvements to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Understand inventory and barrel requirements, work with logistics team, and negotiate with carriers and freight forwarders to secure competitive pricing
  • Develop new routes, track and monitor shipments, and consult with customers about new / improved routes
  • Follow up with freight forwarders and monitor costs, and continually improve logistics methods
  • Research, analyze and report on freight costs

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in designing, managing, and overseeing the construction of roadway and railroad projects
  • Strong knowledge of engineering and construction processes, including right-of-way acquisition, negotiation, and retention
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing right-of-way development and transportation
