Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Travel Counselor who can help us plan our dream vacation. We want someone who is experienced in planning all aspects of a trip, including booking flights, hotels, and activities. We’re looking for someone who can help us make the most of our time and budget, and who can give us advice on the best places to visit.

Travel Counselor Duties:

  • Research and plan travel itineraries for internal and external clients
  • Provide quotes, rates, and destination information for air, hotel, car, and entertainment
  • Conduct price checks on costs to hotels, car rental agencies, and other sites
  • Preparation and implementation of recommendations for clients
  • Evaluate travel options based on client preferences
  • Provide assistance to clients traveling from out-of-town

Travel Counselor Responsibilities:

  • 2+ years’ experience with travel agency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with booking travel reservations and fares
  • Knowledge of program benefits, eligibility requirements, and enrollment procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills

Requirements And Skills:

  • Create itineraries, book hotels, plan ground transportation, organize dining and entertainment, and handle cancellations and refunds
  • Develop and maintain relationships with hotels, airlines, and other vendors
  • Understand any other service issues that might arise, and take steps to determine a solution
  • Oversee the booking and fulfillment of vacation travel, including mileage and incentive travel
  • Establish and maintain awareness of travel industry developments in products and rates, and communicate them to clients
  • Understandclients’ needs and preferences, and use this information to develop itineraries
  • Create personalized travel documents, such as passports and visas
