Venue Manager Job Description

A venue manager is one who organizes and manages a music venue.

A venue manager performs a range of functions, including marketing, scheduling, and arranging for scheduled events.

Venue managers must ensure that the venue is equipped to handle the expected number of patrons, and that contractual arrangements are made between venue owners and performers.

Venue managers also ensure the venue is in compliance with local licensing and code regulations.

Although a venue manager's primary role is managing the venue, one who manages a venue must also develop relationships with performers.

This entails scheduling and promoting scheduled events, as well as negotiating with promoters, artists, and major concert venues

Job Brief:

We're looking for a Venue Manager to oversee all aspects of our event venue. The Venue Manager will be responsible for coordinating and executing all events, managing staff, and ensuring that our venue is running smoothly and efficiently.

Venue Manager Duties:

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by assisting and resolving problems, and by conducting regular meetings
  • Train, coach, and evaluate staff
  • Evaluate hiring needs and hire/re-hire as needed
  • Evaluate staff performance to ensure desired results are being achieved
  • Meet with owners, managers, and clients about venue improvement suggestions
  • Review emergency and disaster plans
  • Review monthly and yearly financial reports
  • Ensure that venue efforts are consistent with organizational goals

Venue Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of a venue within a specific geographic location for a specified period of time. This includes defining venue specifics including space
  • requirements, equipment, services and staffing
  • Increase revenues and attendance by driving sales; cultivating sponsorships, partnerships, and building relationships with venues, advertisers, and consumers
  • Manage daily operations including scheduling, human resources, payroll, and budgeting
  • Support venue's vision by developing and implementing a marketing plan and negotiating contracts
  • Create an environment that encourages employee and customer satisfaction, and promotes teamwork and innovation
  • Conduct program assessments, and report results to higher management

Requirements And Skills:
