Veterinary Receptionist Duties:

  • Manage daily appointments, schedule services, and follow up on referrals
  • Answer phones, make appointments, and handle customer inquiries
  • Assist in daily office procedures
  • Maintain and update client records
  • Take inventory and order supplies as necessary
  • Maintain a clean, orderly reception area
  • Review and respond to emails, voicemails, and text messages
  • Conducts background screenings and drug tests
  • Promotes a positive, helpful, and professional image to internal and external clients

Veterinary Receptionist Responsibilities:

  • Assist the veterinarian with scheduling appointments, prepping patients, and communicating with other hospital staff as needed
  • Assist the vet during exams, including drawing blood and performing other procedures, and document all findings in the electronic medical record
  • Assure all medical records are legible and filed within the proper locations according to the company's records retention policy
  • Prepare bills and other documents for patient invoicing
