Job Brief:

We’re looking for a senior VMware Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our VMware infrastructure. In this role, you will work closely with our other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that our VMware infrastructure is reliable and scalable. VMware Engineer Duties:

  • Implement VMware technology solutions for virtualization, networking, and storage infrastructures
  • Create, test, and deploy VMware vSphere environments
  • Deploy and manage vCloud Director and vCenter
  • Develop, build, and support VMware NSX networks
  • Procure, configure, and implement VMware products and related technologies
  • Implement and maintain VMware ESXi
  • Manage the VMware vShield Manager
  • Ensure all VMware products meet business requirements
  • Provide technical support to end users, operations, and management
  • Maintain knowledge of VMware products and industry trends
  • Decide and implement appropriate VMware products and technologies
  • Perform system maintenance as needed

VMware Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical investigations of customer reported issues
  • Collaborate with customer engineers and other VMware 3rd-party resources to investigate customer reported issues
  • Provide input on product direction, design, and development
  • Perform root cause analysis of customer reported issues
  • Participate in design decisions
  • Contribute to product documentation and manuals
  • Provide assistance in product training, customer meetings, and speaking engagements
  • Participate in and participate in product release planning

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on VMware virtualization and/or cloud experience
  • Expert knowledge of vSphere and vCloud Director; experience with ESXi, vCenter and vMotion
  • Expert knowledge of best practice VMware deployment techniques
