Job Brief:

We’re looking for Welding Engineer to provide support to the team by conducting welding process research and development to improve productivity and quality. The position will also be responsible for the development of new welding processes and the training of welding personnel.

Welding Engineer Duties:

  • Manage the welding department, ensuring that all welding activities adhere to safety and quality standards
  • Provide technical expertise for welding projects
  • Review welding procedures
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and welding supplies
  • Train and oversee new employees in welding
  • Implement new ways of welding based on current best practices
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and track recurring welding issues
  • Monitor overall production output
  • Liaise with other departments on welding-specific issues

Welding Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design and build welding fixtures, tools, and machines for production and special project work
  • Research and evaluate new or improved materials and processes to design and fabricate jigs, fixtures, and tooling
  • Develop engineering standards, tools, and jigs and implement them throughout the company
  • Develop specifications for new products
  • Develop, maintain, and upgrade company’s CAD systems
  • Assist production engineering in troubleshooting and resolving problems
  • Provide technical support to production, sales, and consulting engineers
  • Arrange and attend welding inspections and workshops
  • Plan and execute welding shop projects involving multiple departments
  • Attend engineering conferences, seminars, and trade shows
  • Assist the production team in resolving welding issues

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding/Metallurgical Engineering
  • 2+ years’ proven experience in engineering or design
  • Knowledge of welding procedures and metallurgy
  • Excellent understanding of welding theory and processes
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to review weld procedures
