Job Brief:

X-Ray Technician Duties:

  • Performs duties of an X-ray technician in order to generate diagnostic quality medical images
  • Perform x-ray examinations in accordance with current protocols and best practices
  • Routinely inspect equipment for proper functioning
  • Assist physicians with interpreting medical images
  • Enter and retrieve patient information from medical database
  • Recommend patient care or treatment
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance
  • Correcting or fixing problems according to procedures
  • Operate radiographic equipment
  • Recommends when equipment should be serviced or replaced
  • Perform other tasks as necessary

X-Ray Technician Responsibilities:

  • Use fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography (CT), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to identify anatomical structures, diagnose diseases, and assess injuries
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Develop and use radiographic images and reports to convey patient progress
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referring practitioners
  • Assist with patient scheduling and follow-up appointments
  • Perform administrative functions
  • Initiate and maintain accurate records and logs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Associate’s degree in radiologic technology
  • 2+ years experience in an x-ray department with 0 to 3 technicians
  • Demonstrated understanding of anatomy and physiology and familiarity with medical terminology
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient medical information
