Job Brief:

We're looking for Youth Counselors to help our kids with their homework, to play sports with them, and to be a positive role model in their lives.

Youth Counselor Duties:

  • Maintain a positive work environment by assisting staff in maintaining compliance to all rules and regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality with all information
  • Lead, guide, and manage youth in a safe environment
  • Provide instruction or role modeling for youth in activities
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling
  • Develop and implement a therapeutic intervention plan for youth, when needed
  • Train and mentor youth in various skills
  • Ensure all documentation is filed and up to date
  • Ensure proper use of all resources and materials

Youth Counselor Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct environmental education programs for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students
  • Plan activities, projects, and field trips that reinforce education standards and address students' needs and interests
  • Plan lessons, worksheets, and materials for classes
  • Create and maintain student records, reports, and evaluations; and hire, train, and supervise support staff
  • Prepare classroom materials and equipment for use
  • Research, evaluate, and incorporate current curriculum and environmental education practices
  • Maintain equipment and facilities
  • Attend staff meetings
