Appliance Repair Technician Job Description

An appliance repair technician is a licensed professional who repairs household appliance.

An appliance repair technician must be familiar with all electronic and mechanical components of an appliance.

An appliance repair technician must be capable of replacing or repairing parts as well as diagnosing potential malfunctions.

An appliance repair technician must also be capable of installing new parts into appliances.

An appliance repair technician must be capable of completing all paperwork related to all work performed.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for an Appliance Repair Technician to come to our store and help us fix our broken appliances. We would really appreciate it if you could come as soon as possible and help us get our store back up and running.

Appliance Repair Technician Duties:

• Install, repair, service, and maintain all appliances
• Perform refrigerator/freezer, ice maker, microwave, and range/oven repairs
• Identify and troubleshoot issues with appliances
• Perform preventive maintenance on appliances
• Complete all paperwork and job reports

Appliance Repair Technician Responsibilities:

• Maintain technician schedule
• Assist customers during service calls including providing estimates, routing parts, and troubleshooting
• Prepare estimates
• Provide preventive maintenance
• Work with outside service providers
• Drive customer calls
• Maintain and service equipment
• Maintain inventory
• Clean work area
• Work with office staff
• Update job status
• Perform other job duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

• Technical aptitude; knowledge of appliance parts; ability to follow written and oral instructions
• 2+ years’ experience as a repair technician
• Certified in appliance repair, gas fitting and heating, and electrical
• Ability to work effectively as an individual, as well as in a team environment
