A chief invigilator is a person who supervises, directs, and monitors the activities of an examination or test.

Exams are administered at schools, under a license, or at an employer’s request.

A chief invigilator ensures that all conditions are met for administering exams, such as proper candidate identification or the setting up of test rooms.

Invigilators also monitor the behavior of the test takers to ensure that they behave appropriately.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Chief Invigilator who can help us to maintain order and enforce rules during examinations. The successful candidate will be fair, firm, and have the ability to maintain a high level of discipline amongst students. Chief Invigilator Duties:

  • Maintain positive relationships with students and peers and maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Enforce all safety rules and regulations
  • Continue to develop employee skills and efficiency
  • Oversee and maintain school records
  • Understand the laws and regulations of the education system in your area
  • coordinate with other school personnel
  • Assist with the hiring of new employees

Chief Invigilator Responsibilities:

  • Attend and participate in all shift meetings, maintain logbook, review assigned site for security, monitor and investigate incidents, report incidents to supervisor, and complete incident reports
  • Initiate and thoroughly investigate all customer complaints, accidents, injury claims, accidents, and safety violations
  • Conduct periodic walkthroughs of assigned sites, and communicate any security concerns to managers
  • Maintain a clean driving record and valid drivers license

Requirements And Skills:

  • Proven experience supervising and overseeing operations of testing centers
  • Experience in managing high-volume, time-critical testing operations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality
  • Knowledge of exam administration and industry test security policies and procedures
