Job Brief:

We’re looking for Pathologist to fill a position in our laboratory. The ideal candidate will have experience in histology and be able to work independently.

Pathologist Duties:

  • Promote a positive learning culture in the department
  • Train, mentor, and develop department staff
  • Encourage strong work ethic and adherence to all departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and timely information
  • Complete month-end and year-end processing
  • Attend meetings, seminars, and other continuing education opportunities
  • Administer licensing and certification processes
  • Answer questions and concerns from patients, families, and other staff members
  • Perform ancillary testing to include cytology, histology, flow cytometry, molecular diagnostics, and immunohistochemistry
  • Continue professional education and pursue certifications
  • Assist with quality improvement activities
  • Perform administrative duties
  • Conduct research
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and hospital property
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Pathologist Responsibilities:

  • Perform and interpret laboratory tests, including x-rays, ultrasound, blood cell counts, and chemistry panels, to determine patients’ medical conditions and responses to treatment
  • Collect, organize, and document patient specimens for analysis
  • Perform procedures like cystoscopy, bronchoscopy, and colonoscopy to evaluate on-site test results
  • Perform image interpretation and report results to physicians
  • Perform special testing to diagnose chronic conditions and diseases
  • Performs other responsibilities as directed

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Diploma in Anatomic Pathology
  • Experience in anatomical pathology
  • Strong communication skills
