A ramp agent is someone who is employed by an airline or cargo carrier (such as UPS or FedEx), and is responsible for loading and unloading cargo from or onto an aircraft.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for Ramp Agent to handle incoming and outgoing aircraft on the ground, load and unload baggage and cargo, direct and marshal aircraft on the ground, and provide overall customer service to passengers.

Ramp Agent Duties:

  • Maintain and update records on incoming guests to ensure accurate and timely stay information
  • Maintain reservations and billing information
  • Provide assistance to guests with reservations, arrivals, and departures
  • Provide direction and guidance to staff
  • Assist with operational activities as needed
  • Enforce all security and safety procedures
  • Support Director

Ramp Agent Responsibilities:

  • Perform intermediate and advanced level customer service support tasks related to ground transportation, including greeting passengers and accurately processing their third party reservations
  • Assist passengers with check-in, luggage, and carry-on bags, and assist with boarding of aircraft
  • Attend to passenger requests, including air drops, wheelchair assistance, meal requests, and assistance for unaccompanied minors
  • Perform customer service activities, such as answering phones, handling customer complaints and inquiries, and resolving problems
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure airline and departmental goals are consistently met
  • Maintain current knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Sources, analyzes, and implements solutions to problems
  • Participate in cross-departmental training programs
  • Provides feedback to management on performance strengths and weaknesses
  • Attend training courses as directed; maintain certifications, licenses, and registration as required by law
  • Meet with customers and suppliers as needed

Requirements And Skills:

  • Wide knowledge of the assigned ramp system
  • Ability to communicate with passengers to ensure they are greeted properly and properly escorted to their proper boarding location
  • Knowledge of gate procedures
  • Proven experience with ramp systems
  • Knowledge of passenger travel needs
  • Ability to multitask
