A sandwich artist prepares and composes meals, typically sandwich fillings, into a variety of open-faced sandwich sandwiches.

To sandwich an artist is to make something sandwich-like, often with other fillings.

The sandwich artist is responsible for placing the correct ingredients in the correct order, as well as adding condiments, to create the sandwich.

A sandwich artist’s menu may consist of items such as Smorgasbord, which comprises a variety of different fillings; club sandwich, which is a typical combination thereof; and submarine sandwich, which is typically composed of ham, cheese, and lettuce.

Sandwich Artist Duties:

  • Work at sandwich shop and prepare gourmet sandwiches
  • Prepare soups and salads
  • Clean up after customers
  • Provide courteous, quality, efficient service

Sandwich Artist Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sandwiches according to the recipes, following proper techniques, using the proper equipment and ingredients, and following proper sanitation procedures
  • Help customers who are placing orders, and provide fast, friendly, efficient, and quality service
  • Follow cleaning, sanitation, and health and safety procedures, and adhere to all company policies
  • Be clean and tidy, wear proper uniform, and use clean utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
  • Work with management, customers, and coworkers to solve problems, anticipate future needs, and excel at customer service

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree; 3+ years experience in a related area
  • Proficient knowledge of kitchen equipment, methods, and procedures
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate and train team members
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
