What are Outcomes and Outputs?
Outcomes are the end results. Outputs are the steps. Outcomes are the goals, and outputs are the methods.
Outcomes are the goals you want to achieve, and outputs are how you achieve them. They are the end goals that you want to achieve or the change you want to see.

The outcome may be related to good, bad, or indifferent. For example, the outcome of a basketball game is a win or a loss. In another example, the outcome of a job interview is acceptance or rejection.
On the other hand, the outcome can be linked to actions or events that may have occurred but have happened in the past. For example, the outcome of a soccer game is winning or losing. The outcome of a baseball game is winning or losing. In another example, the outcome of a job is the salary, benefits, and job performance.
Outcome vs output – what’s the difference?
Output is the result of a process, while the outcome is the end result of that process. In other words, the output is what you produce, while the outcome is what you achieve.
Why are output and outcome necessary? Because without an output, there can be no outcome. Output is the foundation upon which outcomes are built. Without a foundation, a house will collapse. The same is true for any process – without an output, there can be no outcome.
Output vs outcome – they may seem like two sides of the same coin, but they are actually quite different. Output is necessary for the outcome, but the outcome is not necessarily the same as the output.
