Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Payroll Assistant who is detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll and be able to handle a high volume of data.

Payroll Assistant Duties:

  • Maintain Payroll department records and reports
  • Assist in processing payroll through ADP
  • Remain detail-oriented with payroll
  • Collect, compile, and verify employee data
  • Formulate and implement payroll strategies
  • Review personnel records
  • Report payroll information, results, and issues to senior management

Payroll Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Verify payroll tax information, review W2s and 1099s, process employee payroll, and reconcile payments
  • Process payroll transactions, prepare reports, and maintain records
  • Perform inventory and account reconciliations, and reconcile the ending bank balance
  • Properly complete and submit all forms, reports, and paperwork to internal and governmental agencies
  • Assist with filing and reporting federal and state tax documents
  • Maintain up-to-date payroll knowledge including pay period, pay dates, Federal and State withholding tax tables, and applicable local ordinances
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee and business information
  • Work in a team environment, and cooperatively with other employees to accomplish common goals
  • Attend training, seminars, and conferences to stay up-to-date on regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax laws
  • High proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Ability to process payroll in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to understand
