Fitter Duties:

  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing building maintenance plans
  • Develop and oversee projects related to building maintenance, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC
  • Maintain and repair building systems
  • Maintain building safety and security systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure building systems and equipment function optimally
  • Perform repairs as needed
  • Research new products and methods related to building maintenance
  • Develop and implement building maintenance plans
  • Develop and implement building maintenance procedures, policies, and standards

Fitter Responsibilities:

  • Install and service motors, pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers; repair and replace bearings, seals, and belts; inspect, adjust, and test HVAC systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on refrigeration systems
  • Document work processes and results, using computer-aided drafting equipment
  • Use power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, hydraulic tools, and other equipment
  • Assume responsibility for shift change

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years building maintenance experience
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in environment with extreme temperatures
  • Knowledge of mechanical construction techniques
  • Experience in industrial equipment repair
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
