Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Video Journalist who is passionate about news and is experienced in filming and editing. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and be able to generate new and exciting ideas for stories.

Video Journalist Duties:

  • Create, produce, and edit effective videos
  • Record interviews, conduct research, and compose scripts
  • Use various equipment and software
  • Write and edit scripts
  • Place visual elements, audio, and text on videos
  • Produce voiceovers
  • Promote videos via social media and website
  • Develop concepts and strategies for videos
  • Find story ideas and create videos
  • Provide other video-related support

Video Journalist Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post virtual tours of property listings
  • Conduct interviews with homeowners, agents, landlords, and other professionals working in the industry
  • Edit, write, and revise company scripts and ad copy
  • Generate, format, and disseminate ready-to-use audio and video files for in-house marketing efforts
  • Create, edit, and post periodic marketing videos
  • Make regular visits to client sites
  • Work with Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator to create marketing materials, including brochures, company letterhead, and business cards

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field
  • At least 4 years experience in video journalism
  • Knowledge of video equipment and camera operation
  • Knowledge of editing techniques using nonlinear editing
  • Written and verbal communication skills
