An energy consultant is a professional who helps businesses and individuals use energy more efficiently, reduce energy costs, and minimize environmental impact.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for an Energy Consultant to help us save money on our energy bills. We’ve been told that we could save a lot of money if we hired someone to help us find the best deals on energy providers and to negotiate new contracts. We’re hoping to find someone who can help us reduce our energy costs by at least 10%.

Energy Consultant Duties:

  • Perform energy audits on commercial and industrial buildings to determine optimal energy efficiency measures
  • Research new industry technologies and products
  • Attain and analyze building energy data such as utility bills, meter readings, and load profile information
  • Develop recommendations for energy conservation

Energy Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with energy code compliance
  • Knowledge of Building Codes associated with energy efficiency
  • Knowledge of building performance standards
  • Ability to interpret energy code and energy modeling software
  • Knowledge of blower door, duct blaster, and thermographic inspections

Requirements And Skills:

  • Analyze energy data, such as electricity, natural gas, and fuel consumption, to identify energy waste and recommend cost saving measures
  • Obtain and analyze utility and customer data including rates and supply/demand trends
  • Develop energy reduction strategies, including demand response, energy efficiency, and renewable energy, based on customer budget and preferences
  • Develop and communicate temperature reduction strategies, including behavioral and HVAC equipment, in buildings and residences
  • Develop, implement, and assess energy production and distribution strategies, including heat pumps, solar, and wind power, based on customer budget and preferences
  • Develop and implement energy research and position energy as a cost-saving opportunity, including developing and executing research plans for internal and external customers
  • Conduct energy audits, and perform energy audits and research
  • Study the impact of energy cost on profit/loss statements, and make recommendations to improve profitability
  • Develop metrics and key
